There was a time when we guys frequently took short breaks to balance our work. We used to search for nearby weekend gateways from Delhi to take some time off. This time, we went to a small cantonment hill station town, Kasauli. Generally, people stay here as a stopover point before moving upward to Shimla.

The small town has only a couple of tourist attractions but provides a good escape from a hectic life. It actually is not a place for any specific attraction or activities. But the environment is serene, and it provides enchanting calmness.
We started early in the morning. It took us approx 6 hours (280km one way) to reach this hill station. Post our lunch, we went to local sightseeing points – Monkey Point, temple, church, and last, Sunset Point. Mostly, all the hill stations have these common tourist spots.
Watching the sunset was nice. There were a handful of tourists as it wasn’t a preferred destination by travelers back then. After having some quiet and serene time at the sunset, we went to see the mall road (the only place where we could see people, both locals and tourists). After some time hanging around, we went to our resort.

The next day morning, after breakfast, we went for a nature walk or, you can say, hiking. Our resort was newly built and was located far away from the remaining resorts and the city. The resort was actually secluded on the hill, and only a couple of rooms were occupied. All this actually made our stay more peaceful and relaxed. The hiking trail was nice, and we enjoyed the much-needed break from our mundane office life.

Tip:
- You can take a stopover at Kasauli before proceeding to Shimla and other hill stations.
- The place is not very crowded compared to other nearby hill stations.
