It has been 8 years since we visited this place to celebrate New Year’s Eve, but it still feels that I visited this beautiful Keoladeo National Park, popularly known as Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary, like yesterday.
Everything was so perfectly planned. After searching for many options (in and around Delhi) to make our year-end special, we decided to welcome the upcoming year with nature, with its natural beauty, serene environment, and peaceful atmosphere.

We left early in the morning, and it took us approx. 4.5 hours with the breakfast break in between, to reach the resort. Upon reaching, we got a pleasant surprise that it had so wonderfully prepared itself for all the celebrations for the evening. Born fire, Folk Music, Puppet Show, open-air dinner set up…etc. It looked so vibrant and beautiful.
After our lunch, we left for a bird-watching Safari. There, we hired a cycle rickshaw (not sure if it is still available or replaced by a battery-operated one) to see different birds in the sanctuary. Our rickshaw operator cum guide provided us with detailed information on all the variety of birds we saw. It is a paradise for bird lovers and photographers. You can also walk on the path if you wish to and have that kind of stamina.

After our beautiful bird-watching safari tour at Keoladeo National Park, we returned to our resort and saw it fully lit ( like Diwali lightning). Post-sunset, it became extremely cold and dark.

At night, we enjoyed our lovely dinner with Rajasthani music and folk dance and welcomed the next year with new resolutions to travel more 🙂
Visiting national parks also gives a nice break and connection to nature.
