The Louvre Museum is one of the biggest museums in the world. It is a heaven for art lovers. Though all paintings and sculptures are masterpieces in itself. One can spend hours at each of the artwork.

The museum t has 3 blocks: Denon, Sully and Richelieu. Most of the popular art pieces among visitors are in Denon block, followed by Sully. Richelieu block is popular for Egyptian mummies and walls.
Here is a list of the top 6 masterpieces/artwork based on their popularity and history, which one should visit, especially if one has a limited time period.
1. Mona Lisa
Level 1- Denon Block – 711
This painting of the Mona Lisa hanging on a huge wall is the most popular among visitors. There is a huge waiting time to see this artwork. Mona Lisa had the best smile as per the history. My personal opinion for this artwork is – this painting is overrated, there are many other outstanding paintings and sculpture in the museum which are underrated.
But it is definitely a must-see painting.

2. Venus De Milo
Level 0 – Sully Block – 345
This Greek sculpture is popularly believed to represent Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love and beauty, who was known to the Romans as Venus. It is a beautiful piece.

3. Wing Victory of Samothrace
Level 1- Denon Block – 703
This is one of the most impressive artworks of ancient Greece.

4. Egyptian Mummy
Level 1- Richelieu Block – 321
This is the only preserved Mummy of Egyptian Antiquities in the museum. A must-see.

5. The Coronation of Napoleon
Level 1- Denon Block
The painting is famous its historical murals. The painting depicts the coronation ceremony of Emperor Josephine. It shows the splendor of ceremony and each person is carefully shown.

6. Sleeping Hermaphroditus
This is one of the best masterpieces if one knows the history of this beauty. This shows the merging of two bodies into a single being with both genders.
Need to look closely from all angles to understand the true sense of the artwork.
