It was the first time when we decided that we should plan a weekend gateway or one-day picnic for the entire family. So, two years ago when we went to Mumbai, everyone was excited with the idea of going out and spending some quality family time together. My sis-in-law suggested an amazing location for a one-day picnic – Srushti Farms. The best thing was its proximity to Mumbai.
It took us approx more than an hour to reach this place. We received a warm welcome with refreshing drinks and an amazing breakfast. It is a huge property with all the amenities available for all age groups, from toddlers to senior citizens. It was a mixed group of toddlers, a kid, senior citizens, and young couples.
We started with water slides because it was sunny, followed by some rain dance in the swimming pool. Then we tried our hands at Archery and Golf while the kids enjoyed swings.
Post lunch, we explored nature trails and took some rest by playing cards and board games. There are many sitting areas made for people who are not staying overnight.
In the evening, we went to see their spice garden. The garden was extremely beautiful. Post-high tea, we decided to go and check on the boating area, which was across the road. Earlier, I didn’t know that the river and boating are also a part of Srusthi farms. Upon reaching the boating, we all were tempted to go boating as it was lovely weather. Luckily, when we were boating, ours were the only two boats, and then suddenly, there was a long queue of people waiting for their turn. The boating experience was actually the highlight of the entire day.
We truly enjoyed our day’s picnic at Shrusti Farms, a weekend getaway from Mumbai.
Tips
- Carry a set of clothes if you would like to get wet during water slides and rain dance.
- Spend some time on the river and explore the boating area. It is the highlight of the entire place.
