Satpura Tiger Reserve, a much-needed break after almost a year-long lockdown. The year 2020 was full of excitement, changes, opportunities, difficulties, challenges etc. It has taught us many things, to appreciate and value small things in life. I have witnessed many positives during the year gone by though there were tough situations. But overall I would say a good year.
How did we end up planning this trip?
It was because of my cousin’s (brother) wedding which was fixed in the month of Dec 2020. We were all very sceptical for attending the wedding as it was out stationed and we would be exposing ourselves to a lot of people. After many rounds of yes and no, we finally decided to attend the wedding. Now that we were travelling, so we decided to extend our stay for a couple of days and visit some place nearby. And we finalized Satpura, which is still less explored tourist place by Indians, but not foreigners.

Luxurious escape
The Christmas morning we (two couple and a toddler) started our luxury escape to Satpura Tiger Reserve. It took us 3.5 hours (due to not so good roads) from Bhopal to reach our resort. The place is beautiful with Satpura mountain range at one side and Denva river on the other. After checking in, we directly went to have our lunch as we were extremely hungry and also had our afternoon safari.
Our resort Denva Backwater Escape, was truly a luxury experience in itself. We did nothing here but relax and eat a 3 course exotic menu for all the three meals. Satpura tiger reserve is an amazing forest which is situated on the hills along side Denva river.

The animals which we encountered during our safaris were Deers, Indian Gaur, Sloth Bear and many species of birds. The forest on the hill is an experience in itself.

Satpura Tiger Reserve is a must national park visit if you love going into the wild.
