SILICON VALLEY OF INDIA – BANGALURU (BANGALORE)

Bangalore trip was one of the most cherished trip of mine. I was eagerly looking forward for this trip. It was late January that and I happened to ask my closest friend if she is interested to travel in February. And she instantly said YES. And, then all the excitement started. We started planning for this trip. We had many things to take care as we were traveling with kids – from child friendly destination, food, good staying options, weather etc. Finally, we shortlisted Bangalore as it has many nearby options to go. And most importantly both of us had relatives staying there. So, it was ideal from kids point of view.

We had planned for a 10 day trip, though we were little skeptical whether the kids would adjust with such a long trip and also with each other. But then we decided let us experiment and if all things fall into place it would become starting point for our future travels.

We reached Bangalore on a late Friday night to our respective relatives house. She was traveling from Goa and me from Delhi. And, next morning we left for a Mysore-Coorg trip of 4 days. Our all girls (mom-kids) trip started. We had a gala time.

On 5th day we decided to have a Bangalore tour. Post our lunch we went to see Bangalore Palace as our first destination. Our experience was not that great. The palace is now a private property and the charges to visit are extremely high. It was a total waste of time, energy and money. So, we hurriedly moved to our next destination Visveswaraya Industrial and Technological Museum. It is a beautiful museum with 7 huge galleries – Engine Hall, Science, Electrotecnic, Space, Biotechnological, Electronic and Children Science. It has become the major landmark of the city and a must visit place. We spent and more than couple of hours (which we thought were very less) and finally went to Cubbon Park (which is at a walking distance) for children to run around and play. We were extremely exhausted by end of the day and back to our respective places.

Other places which we explored in next couple of days included Bangalore Aquarium and Jawahar Bal Bhawan. Both theses places are near to Cubbon Park and are worth visiting with kids. The aquarium is well maintained and very big. It has a variety of exotic fishes for display.

Jawahar Bal Bhawan

The only thing worth visiting which i missed is Lal Bagh Botanical garden. Else, Bangalore is a busy city and does not have many tourist spot. But, the weather of the city and proximity to visit/connect all four southern state makes it tourist preferable destination.

Bangalore is an ideal destination to stay and visit all nearby places around.
