It was the last day day of our trip. We didn’t plan to visit this town originally, but our driver really insisted us to visit this place. As we had time and it was on our way back to Bangalore, so we decided to visit this town. And, I have to thank our driver who insisted us to visit, otherwise we would have missed such a beautiful sightseeing.

We started our day visiting Nisarghadama Forest Park which falls under Coorg. The park is undeniable beautiful and enjoyable picnic spot. It is a heaven for photo lovers, nature lovers. One can walk and enjoy landscape and others can have fun with boating, elephant ride, zipping, hanging bridge. It also has a deer park inside.

Our next stop was Balmuri Falls. It looks very average from the outside, but when you go inside, it is beautiful. Many South Indian movies have captured this spot in their films. The best time to visit this place is in monsoons when the water level is really high. One can also enjoy the coracle ride as i did.

Our next destination was Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary in Srirangapatna, an extremely beautiful place to visit even if you are not a big fan of birds. A paradise for photographers. If you are really fond of birds then you can take a boat ride to get a closer look else you can simply relax and walk around the nature trails. I simply enjoyed this place.

Post our late lunch at the bird sanctuary (the food taste was very average), we saw Tipu Sultan Summer Palace and did some shopping from the shops which are opposite the palace. The shops are famous for silk sarees and are government recognized wholesale shops. Hence, authenticity of the product is guaranteed.

Our last stop was Ranganathaswamy Temple. It is one of the largest temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The temple is so architecturally scenic. One gets mesmerized with its beautiful architecture. A must visit place.

Tipu Sultan Death Memorial was our 2 mins stopover before proceeding to our home in Bangalore.

And, our 4 days trip to Mysuru-Coorg-Srirangapatna came to an end. This was surely my memorable trip.

Tips:

  • Though Nisarghadama is a all year go place but, if possible, avoid this place in peak rainy month and peak summers. Elephant rides are not available during non tourist season.
  • All places are so very economical in terms of entry tickets, food, stay. One can enjoy to the fullest.
