Island of the God’s: Bali, Indonesia

It has been more than 7 years ever since I went to Bali, but it still feels like yesterday. All the memories related to this place are so fresh. Well, one of reason for this place to be special is it was our honeymoon destination – perfect, serene, and the most beautiful.

Bali Beach

I remember back then it was not that famous tourist spot for Indians and was only seen as a couple destination, but in the last 3-4 years it has become one of the favorite destinations for Indians be it couples, family and even corporates – many conferences /outbound meetings are being arranged here by companies. It has become one of the popular destination on the “places to go list” of the traveler.

The place has something to offer for every tourist –  from mountains and hills, sandy beaches to relax, barren volcanic hillsides, picturesque backdrop for nature and photo lovers. This place is a paradise for photographer with colorful landscapes all across.

We stayed here for 4N, 5D in Aston Bali resort. I loved this hotel, one of the best I have ever been to. The overall location, picturesque structure, the swimming pool, food & drinks counter inside the pool, the beach next to the swimming pool made the Hotel a real paradise.

It was a perfect place for relaxation, sightseeing and getting to know each other. Our itinerary for 5 days.

Day 1

We had an amazing welcome done by our guide at the Airport. Post exchange of greetings, proceeded to our hotel. Upon reaching hotel we were greeted by garlands and refreshments drinks at the reception. Post check-in we went for lunch which was arranged outside the hotel. The evening was spent at the pool and later went for the specially arranged dinner for two of us.

Day 2: Uluwatu Temple

Started little lazy. The morning were again spent at the pool. The afternoon we went for some sightseeing which included Uluwatu temple located at top of hill. There we witnessed mesmerizing sunset and beautiful Kecak dance. The view was simply awesome from here. The entire valley looked beautiful and the beach below was quite and serene. The only thing one has to be aware of are monkeys. There are lots and lots of monkeys, and they even snatch sunglasses. One has to empty handed to this place.

Day 3: Batubalan Village, Caluk Village, Mas Village

Explored Bali, its culture, artifact, handicraft…etc. First, we went to Batubalan village, famous for Stone carving, followed by Caluk village which was famous for Gold & Silver works. We did some shopping here. Next, we proceeded to Mas village known for its beautiful and traditional woodcarving and then later to Ubud where we saw some expressive paintings.

Post lunch, our day rested with the traditional Balinese spa session which was arranged for us as a gift from our tour operator. This was the best gift ever received. We both thoroughly enjoyed the spa/massage.

Day 4

Day 4 in Bali was devoted to water sports. We enjoyed Jet ski ride, followed by speed boat ride, parasailing and other water activities. A very special beach side dinner was arranged for us at the hotel.

Day 5

This was the last day at this amazing place. We enjoyed the morning at the pool and further proceeded to the airport post lunch.

This trip was one of our best trip which created  so many good memories only to cherish now.

One must visit this place Gods’ country to witness the beauty.

We had booked a customized land package, so we had a guide, driver and a car for all the 5 days which really made our stay very pleasant and hassle free.
